119- “AND I SHALL MISGUIDE THEM, AND I SHALL GIVE THEM FALSE HOPE AND WILL COMMAND THEM SO THAT THEY SHALL CUT THE EARS OF THE CATTLE AND I WILL COMMAND THEM SO THAT THEY SHALL CHANGE THE CREATION OF ALLAH”. AND HE WHO TAKES SATAN FOR AN ALLY AND SUPPORTER, HE WOULD HAVE A GREAT MANIFEST LOSS.
120- HE (SATAN) PROMISES THEM AND GIVES THEM HOPE, BUT HIS PROMISES ARE ALL IN VAIN.
121- THEIR ABODE IS THE HELL-FIRE, AND THEY WILL FIND NO ESCAPE FROM IT.
122- AS FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE, WE WILL ADMIT THEM TO GARDENS WITH RIVERS FLOWING UNDERNEATH WHERE THEY WILL ABIDE FOREVER, FOR WHO SPEAKS MORE TRUTHFULLY THAN ALLAH!
Continuing what Satan promised to do:
1- To misguide us. As he was turned out of the Paradise and caused Adam and Eve to be turned out of Paradise, Satan wants all the offspring of Adam to be turned away from the Paradise. He tries to do this through temptation and misguidance. Allah the Highest said: “O CHILDREN OF ADAM, DO NOT LET THE DEVIL TEMPT YOU; AS HE CAUSED YOUR PARENTS TO BE TURNED OUT OF PARADISE”. (S:7 A:27)
2- Giving us false hope. This is one of the ways of misguidance. Like sinning intentionally hoping that Allah the Highest will forgive. Or to do wrong and not to pray etc with the hope that later on in life, they will repent and do good deeds. No one knows if he will live long enough. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “The weak in faith is he who follows his desires and then has hopes from Allah”. (T:Qiamah;25 & Ma:Zohd;31 & A;4;124)
3- Cutting animals ears refers to a practice of people at the time of making a cut of some shape in their animal’s ears to mark them. This is often done either by making a specific cut in the ear, cutting the brush or the tail, or often hot iron branding. It is obvious that this causes the animal suffering and that Allah the Highest condemns it.
Equally bad or worse is the practice of cutting a dog’s tail because the dog looks better with his tail cut.
It must be that it is assumed that animals do not feel pain.
4- Changing the Creation of Allah: This is something many Muslim’s do not knowing that it is forbidden because it is changing the creation of Allah. This is like changing the shape of a nose or a mouth etc. even wearing a wig is changing the creation of Allah. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “Allah curses her who gives her hair for a wig and who wears it”. (B:Lebas;83 & M:Lebas;115 & T:Lebas;25 & D:Tarajol;5 & N:Zehan;22-24)
5- Women at the time of Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him used to do tattoos on their hands and lips, pluck their eye brows. It was also considered a beauty to have a gap in their front teeth. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him forbad these practices saying: “Allah curses whoever does the tattooing and whom it is done to, and whoever plucks the hair and who has it plucked, and whoever makes a gap in their front teeth”. (B:Beyoa;25,113 & M:Lebas;119 & T:Lebas;25)
This does not apply to the recommended cleaning practices of plucking or shaving under the arms and under the arms. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him condoned them when he said: “Cleansing and purity is in 5 things; Circumcision, Shaving pubic hair, plucking under the arms, trimming the nails, and trimming the moustache”. (B:Lebas;63 & M:Taharah;49-56 & T:Adab;14)
6- Men should not imitate women in their dress and looks, and women should not imitate men in their dress and looks. Ibn Abas may Allah be pleased with him said: “Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him cursed the men who imitate women and the women who imitate men”.
(B:Lebas;61 & D:Lebas;27 & T:Adab;24 & Ma:Nekah;22 & A;1;524)
7- Dying the hair with dye or Henna is allowed for both men and women. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him saw men dying their hair with dye or Henna and did not object. Anas Ibn Malik who served Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him for ten years said: “If I wanted to count the white hair in Allah’s messenger’s hair, I would have been able to, however, Abu Bakr dyed his hair with dye and henna, and Omar dyed his hair with Henna”. (M:Fadael;100-103 & B:Manaqeb;23 & N:Zenah;17 & Ma:Lebas;35)
There is nothing wrong being well dressed and for one to look after his or her hair etc, provided it is all decent.
I do not think that there is any rule in Islam against fashion or any particular kind of clothing, but the rules are about decency and modesty in dressing. Also one should not be arrogant and showy in the way they dress whether a man or a woman.
