142- HYPOCRITES THINK THAT THEY DECEIVE ALLAH, WHILE ALLAH WILL SHOW THEIR DECEPTION, AND WHEN THEY RISE FOR SALAH, THEY RISE LAZILY, THEY JUST WANT PEOPLE TO SEE THEM PRAYING, AND THEY VERY SELDOM REMEMBER ALLAH.
143- THEY ARE HESITANT ABOUT SUPPORTING THIS SIDE OR THE OTHER SIDE; AND ANY ONE ALLAH LET GO ASTRAY, HE WILL NEVER FIND THE PATH.
144- YOU WHO BELIEVE, DO NOT TAKE THE DISBELIEVERS FOR ALLIES AND SUPPORTERS INSTEAD OF THE BELIEVERS, DO YOU WISH ALLAH TO HAVE A CLEAR PROOF (OF HYPOCRISY) AGAINST YOU.
145- THE HYPOCRITES ARE IN THE LOWERMOST PART OF THE FIRE, AND YOU WILL FIND THAT THEY HAVE NO SUPPORTERS.
146- EXCEPT THOSE WHO REPENT, AMEND THEIR WAYS, HANG ON TO ALLAH, AND ARE SINCERE TO ALLAH INN THEIR RELIGION, THOSE WILL BE WITH THE BELIEVERS, AND ALLAH WILL GIVE THE BELIEVERS A GREAT REWARD.
147- WHAT WILL ALLAH GAIN FROM PUNISHING YOU IF YOU GIVE THANKS AND BELIEVE, AND ALLAH IS REWARDING AND KNOWS ALL THINGS.
The hypocrites are essentially disbelievers deep down. Therefore, they do not think that Allah the Highest knows what they thing and plan. They think that they deceive the Muslims with their pretence, and in the meantime they think that they deceive Allah the Highest who has a different plan, He said: “THEY ARE PLOTTING A SCHEME * AND I AM PLOTTING A SCHEME * SO LET THE DISBELIEVERS HAVE SOME RESPITE FOR A LITTLE WHILE”. (S: 86 a: 15-17)
Letting them carry one with their pretence means that they continue their misguidance.
“AND WHEN THEY RISE FOR SALAH, THEY RISE LAZILY, THEY JUST WANT PEOPLE TO SEE THEM PRAYING, AND THEY VERY SELDOM REMEMBER ALLAH”.
This is a characteristic of the hypocrites. They do not wish to pray, but they want to be seen praying, therefore they find doing wadoo and praying hard, and a burden. While they are praying, they seldom remember Allah. This will be more evident in the Fajr and Esha (people used to sleep when it is dark). Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “The hardest Salah for the hypocrites are Salah El-Esha and Salah El-Fajr. If they know their rewards, they would come to pray them even if they have to crawl. (M: Masajed; 252 & B: Mawaqeet; 20 & Ma: Masajed; 18 & A: 2; 424,466)
They are usually hurrying during the Salah, for it is just a task they want to finish, and not a way of approaching Allah the Highest. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “The Salah of the hypocrite as such; he sits down watching the sun, and just before it is about to set, he rises and taps four, seldom remembering Allah” (taping means that his head just taps the ground on prostration speeding”. (M: Masajed; 195 & T: Mawaqeet; 6 & N: Mawaqeet; 9)
THEY ARE HESITANT ABOUT SUPPORTING THIS SIDE OR THE OTHER SIDE; AND ANY ONE ALLAH LET GO ASTRAY, HE WILL NEVER FIND THE PATH.
As they do not believe deep down, when it is time to show their true colours, they are hesitant between the disbelievers they belong to more, and the believers they wish to be seen belonging to. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon them said about them: “The hypocrites are like sheep hesitant between two herds, it goes to one herd one time and to the other another time”. (M: Monafeqeen; 17 & N: Eman; 31 & Da: Moqademah; 31 & A: 2; 32)
Allah the Highest is warning the believers of taking the disbelievers for Allies and supporters instead of the believers, for this is clear and decisive evidence against them. This is evidence that the believer are not sincere in their faith and that they fear the disbelievers than Allah the Highest, and evidence that we seek this life not the Hereafter.
Unfortunately we this happening a great deal now, and no doubt is a very important factor in the Muslim’s demise and weakness. Muslim countries at times seek alliance with non-Muslim country against a Muslim country. The enemies of our faith seek to destroy us by getting us to fight each other, and unfortunately the Muslims kill more Muslims than the non-Muslims do.
The Status of the hypocrites in the Hereafter is that they will be in the lowermost part of the Hell-Fire. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “A slave of Allah will say a word for which he falls down in the fire for seventy autumns (years)”. (B: Reqaq; 23 & M: Zohd; 50 & T: Zohd; 10 & Mal: Kalam; 6)
How deep is the lowermost part of the Hell-Fire then?
Allah the Highest does not close the door for repentance and forgiveness, which have some conditions:
- Not to continue doing the same sin knowingly until the last minute before death, and then repent. One of the most aspects of repentance is not doing the same sin.
- After repenting from sinning, one should do good and righteous deeds; this is a sign of good faith.
- One should adhere to and obey Allah’s commands; including duties and prohibitions.
- To be sincere to Allah’s Religion; meaning sincerity in belief and sincerity if the deeds, being for Allah the Highest alone. Sincerity in deeds will follow sincerity in faith.
Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “Three things through which wickedness should not enter a Muslim’s hearts; which are sincerity in the work for Allah, advising the leaders of the Muslims, and adhering to the Muslim group”. (T: Elm; 7 & Ma: Moqademah; 18 & Da: Moqademah; 24 & A: 3; 225 4; 80)
And he said prayer and peace upon him: “Will succeed he who is sincere in faith”. (A: 5; 147)
Few sincere good deeds are much better than many insincere ones, for Allah the Highest does not accept the insincere deeds even if they are good and righteous. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “Be sincere in your religion, few good deeds will be sufficient for you”. (Ibn Abi Hatem)
Fulfilling these conditions is a sign of a true Muslim and believer, whose reward will be the Paradise prepared for them.
Allah the Highest tells us that He has no wish to punish us, for Allah the Highest is most forgiving and compassionate, and wishing us admission to Paradise.
