153- THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK ASK YOU TO SEND DOWN TO THEM A BOOK FROM HEAVEN, THEY ASKED MOSES FOR MORE THAN THAT, THEY SAID: “SHOW US ALLAH MANIFESTLY”, AND THEY WERE STRUCK DOWN WITH LIGHTENING BECAUSE OF THEIR WICKEDNESS, THEN THEY WORSHIPPED THE CALF AFTER THAT, BUT WE FORGAVE THAT, AND HAVE GIVEN MOSES GREAT AUTHORITY.

154- AND WE RAISED THE MOUNTAIN ABOVE THEM BECAUSE OF THEIR COVENANT, AND WE SAID TO THEM: “ENTER THROUGH THE DOOR PROSTRATING” AND WE SAID TO THEM: “DO NOT TRANSGRESS IN THE SABBATH” AND WE HAVE TAKEN A SOLEMN COVENANT FROM THEM.

155- BECAUSE THEY BROKE THEIR COVENANT AND THEIR DISBELIEVE IN ALLAH’S SIGNS AND KILLING THE PROPHETS FOR NO JUST CAUSE, AND FOR SAYING: “OUR HEARTS ARE SEALED IN WRAPPINGS”, BUT ALLAH SEALED THEIR HEARTS BECAUSE OF THEIR DISBELIEVE, FOR LITTLE DO THEY BELIEVE.

156- AND BECAUSE OF THEIR DISBELIEVE AND SAYING TERRIBLE LIE ABOUT MARIAM (MARY)

157- AND BECAUSE OF SAYING: “WE KILLED THE MESSIAH JESUS THE SON OF MARY”, BUT THEY DID NOT KILL HIM AND DID NOT CRUCIFY HIM, BUT THEY WERE MADE TO SEE IT, AND THOSE WHO DISPUTED CONCERNING THIS ARE IN DOUBT ABOUT IT, AND THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF IT EXCEPT GUESSING, AND THEY ARE NOT CERTAIN THEY KILLED HIM.

158- BUT ALLAH RAISED HIM TO HIM (ALLAH) FOR ALLAH IS EXALTED IN POWER AND MOST WISE.

159- AND SOME OF THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK WOULD BELIEVE IN HIM BEFORE HIS DEATH, AND ON THE DAY OF RESURRECTION, HE WILL BE WITNESS OVER THEM.

Allah the Highest is expressing His Anger with the people of the book, which in this case are the Jews.  This anger leads to the sealing of their hearts, so that they have no guidance.  Allah’s anger is because of a number or reasons:

1-    The Jews in Medina asked Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him to bring down to them a book from heaven, the same way Moses peace upon him received the Ten Commandments.  They made this a condition for their belief.  Allah the Highest reminds them, in the mean time telling us that they asked Moses peace upon him for more than that, they asked to see Allah the Highest manifestly.

Prophets and messengers do not demand or request things from Allah the Highest, but Allah the Highest commands them.  Allah the Highest gave Moses the Ten Commandments in the plates, and spoke to him and gave him appointment for 40 nights.  All these were by Allah’s command not by Moses request.

2-    They worshipped the golden calf and after all the miracles and signs in Egypt, crossing the red sea, and in the desert.  Even then, Allah the Highest forgave them.

3-    Allah the Highest reminds them that they did not take His covenants until they were threatened with the mountain which was raised above them to be dropped on them if they do not obey.

4-    They disobeyed Allah’s commands to them about entering the city prostrating and speak with humility.

5-    Allah the Highest reminds them about those who transgressed in the Sabbath when they went fishing.

6-    They disbelieve in Jesus peace upon him, as they disbelieve in Mohamed.

7-    They killed many of Allah’s prophets and messengers.  They also tried to kill Mohamed prayer and peace upon him on several occasions.  Once by dropping a large stone from the top of a building on his head.  Another time by poisoning a sheep given to him by as Jewish woman as a present, and they third by getting the disbelievers to raise a massive army aiming to eradicate the Muslims.

8-    They claim to have killed Jesus peace upon him.  Allah the Highest answers this point very clearly saying: “BUT THEY DID NOT KILL HIM AND DID NOT CRUCIFY HIM, BUT THEY WERE MADE TO SEE IT”   

This means that Allah the Highest made people see what happened to Jesus but it did not happen to him.  In the Gospel according to Barnabas it says: “When the soldiers approached with Judas Iscariot to where Jesus was, Jesus heard the approach of a crowd.  He went to the house while the eleven disciples were asleep.  When God saw the danger to His slave, He ordered Gabriel, Michael, Rafael, and Oriel His messengers to take Jesus from the world.  The angels came and took Jesus through the southern window.  They carried him to the third Heaven, in the company of the angels who praise the Lord forever. 

Judas Iscariot entered the room from which Jesus was raised, with the force and while the disciples were asleep. Then God did a miraculous thing; Judas Iscariot changed in speech and face and became like Jesus, and we thought he was Jesus.  After he wake us up and asked us as to where is the master, we were surprised and we said: “You are the master, did you forget us now”.

According to this account Judas Iscariot became like Jesus, was taken and crucified in his place, while Jesus was raised to the Third Heaven.  This is in harmony with the Quran, and also with the fact that Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him in his ascent to heaven saw Jesus peace upon him in the Third Heaven.  Allah the Highest said: “THEY ARE PLOTTING A SCHEME * AND I AM PLOTTING A SCHEME”.  (S: 86 a: 15-16)  And no one can defeat Allah the Almighty.

It is worth noting that the “Gospel of Barnabas” who was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus peace upon him is present in the Vatican’s Archives, but has never been allowed to be published by the Vatican.  A copy was smuggled out, translated and published.  In this Gospel Jesus prophesied the coming of a prophet called “Ahmed” after him.  The names Ahmed and Mohamed mean the same thing. 

As far as the Jews are concerned, they were aiming to kill Jesus peace upon him. 

9-    Allah the Highest tells us that some of the Jews will believe in Jesus peace upon him, which certainly happened, not just directly but also indirectly through becoming Muslims.

There is also the time when Jesus peace upon him will return to Earth and lead all the believers.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “It is not long before the Son of Mary is sent down to you as a just ruler, he will break the cross and kill the pig, and will not accept anything but Islam from his enemies, and wealth will be abundant so that no one will be in need”.  (B: Anbya; 49 & M: Eman; 242,243 & Ma: Fetan; 33 & A: 2; 240)

Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him also said: “The Anti-Christ will come to my nation and will stay forty (the narrator did not remember if it is days, moths or years) then Allah will send Jesus the Son of Mary, who looks like Arwah Ibn Masoud (A companion) who will go after him and kill him”.  (M: Fetan; 23)

During this time, some Jew will follow Jesus peace upon him.
