163- WE SENT YOU REVELATIONS AS WE SENT TO NOAH, AND THE PROPHETS AFTER HIM, AND WE SENT REVELATIONS TO IBRAHIM, ISMAIL, ISAAC, JACOB AND THE GRANDCHILDREN (OF ISAAC), JESUS, JUAB, YONES (JONAH), HARON (AARON), SOLIMAN (SOLOMON) AND WE HAVE GIVEN DAWOOD (DAVID) A ZABOR.
164- AND MESSENGERS WE NARRATED TO YOU ABOUT THEM AND MESSENGERS WE DID NOT NARRATE TO YOU, AND ALLAH SPOKE TO MOSES DIRECTLY.
165- MESSENGERS TO GIVE PEOPLE GLADE TIDINGS AND TO WARN THEM, SO THAT PEOPLE WILL HAVE NO EXCUSE AFTER THE MESSENGERS, AND ALLAH IS EXALTED IN POWER AND MOST WISE.
166- BUT ALLAH BEARS WITNESS AND GIVES EVIDENCE THROUGH WHAT HE REVEALED TO YOU, SENT DOWN WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE, AND THE ANGELS BEAR WITNESS, AND ALLAH IS SUFFICIENT FOR A WITNESS.
Allah the Highest tells us that revelations were given to many prophets and messengers from the time of Adam peace upon him until Mohamed prayer and peace upon him.
Allah the Highest starts by mentioning Noah, and then says the prophets after him, not naming them until Ibrahim peace upon him. Allah the Highest names some as Ibrahim, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and his twelve children, Jesus, Juab, Jonah, Aaron, Solomon, and David peace upon them all.
We note that Allah the Highest mentions Aaron (Haroon) and does not mention Moses in the same Ayah, but in the next. Mentioning Moses peace upon him comes with stating that he was spoken to be Allah the Highest.
Allah the Highest also spoke to Adam peace upon him. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him was asked: “Allah’s messenger, who was the first prophet:” He said: “Adam”. He was asked: “Allah’s messenger; was he a prophet?” He said: “He was a prophet Allah has spoken to”. (A: 5; 178,179,265)
We should remember that Allah the Highest spoke to Mohamed prayer and peace upon him directly when he was risen up above the seventh heaven in Mearage. Mohamed prayer and peace upon him was honoured by being raised to and admitted to where not other being went.
Also Allah the Highest specifically mentions David being given a book, the Zabor. The Jews and Christians do not consider David peace upon him as a prophet or messenger, but as a king, a wise king. However Allah the Highest is telling us clearly that David peace upon him was a prophet and messenger and was given a book, the Zabor.
Indeed, all people will face and speak to and be spoken to by Allah the Highest directly on the day of Judgement, while being judged. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “There is not one of you whom Allah will not speak to directly, and without an interpreter between them. One will look on his right to see what he did, and look on the left to see what he did, look in front to see the Fire before him, so protect yourselves from the Fire even with half a date (to give for charity)”. (B:Reqaq;49 & M:Zakah;67 & T:Quiamah;1 & Ma:Moqademah;13 & A:4;256)
Allah the Highest tells us the Mission and the Responsibilities of the messengers:
1- To tell people about Allah the Highest, in order to believe in Him, and about the reward of the Paradise.
2- To warn people of the consequences of disbelief and disobeying their Creator.
3- So that on the Day of Resurrection and Judgement, no one can claim that they were not told and warned.
Allah the Highest is fulfilling His promise to us when Adam and Eave were sent out of Paradise, of sending guidance to mankind. Allah the Highest said: “WE SAID: GET DOWN FROM IT ALL OF YOU. WHEN YOU RECEIVE GUIDANCE FROM ME, THOSE WHO FOLLOW MY GUIDANCE, THERE WILL BE NO FEAR UPON THEM, NEITHER WILL THEY BE SADDENED * WHILE THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE AND REJECT OUR FAITH, THEY ARE THE PEOPLE OF THE FIRE, WHERE THEY WILL ABIDE FOREVER”. (S: 2 A: 38-39)
The guidance we receive will be evidence for us or against us. Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “The Quran is guidance for you or against you”. (M: Taharah; 1 & T: Dawat; 25 & N: Zakah; 1 & Da: Wadoo; 2)
4- The prophets and messengers peace upon them carry Allah’s revelations to them, and clarifies it to people. The knowledge in these revelations comes from Allah the Highest not from man, therefore its wisdom is well above ours. Without this Wisdom, we are unhappy and lost in this life, and loss our way.
Allah the Highest also placed other knowledge in the revelations. In the Quran, we have been finding many recently discovered scientific facts, which were not and could not have been known when the Quran was revealed over 1400 years ago. This knowledge could have come from Allah the Highest, and no one else. They serve as a marker and proof of authenticity of the Quran, that it is Allah’s very word.
Then Allah the Highest is Exalted; that is not one or power can influence Him, but in the meantime Most Wise in action and we should obey and be guided by His Wisdom.
